It was named for ''Register-Guard'' founder Alton F. Other amenities include the Cuthbert Amphitheater, a venue for outdoor musical and drama performances. The amphitheater is named for Fred Cuthbert, the park's designer. The park also features a model, in 1:1 billionth scale, of the sun and inner planets of our solar system.
